The scallop, whose scientific name is Aequipecten opercularis, is a medium sized scallop, an edible bivalve mollusc of the family Pectinidae.
Looking similar to the scallop (approximately 2 or 3 times smaller), it is captured mainly on the Galician and French coasts. It stands out for concentrating a flavor and texture of higher quality than the scallop.
